We had an opportunity to hear feedback
about our “Bokkei Bokujo” from the head of the farm at Chugoku Shikoku College
of Dairy Farming which has produced human resources who play an active part in
farming and related organizations in the livestock industry nationwide.
We use “Bokkei Bokujo” when nursing calves
have loose stools or diarrhea. In an effort to avoid relying on medication, we
give Bokkei Bokujo sometimes mixed in sports drinks. It helps speed up their
recovery quite dramatically, and what we like the most about Bokkei Bokujo
is that it is palatable to calves.
With parent cows, when they have
indigestion (a decrease in appetite and rumination due to the decline of gastric
function), Bokkei Bokujo helps recover their appetite when added to their feed.
We
also pour Bokkei Bokujo over pasture grass to enhance the palatability
especially during summer months when cattle tend to have less appetite.
